Los Angeles is the homeless capital of the USA. Since 1985, more than 100,000 homeless men, women, and children have received services from HHCLA. Approximately 20% of L.A.'s homeless are disabled. HHCLA is the only integrated treatment program for the homeless. Skid row is home to more than 10,000 homeless. HHCLA is the largest syringe exchange center in L.A. 47 million Americans do not have health care insurance. More than 10,000 homeless people were assisted by HHCLA last year.

How Your Donation Works

$25 donation provides a food voucher and referral and transport to a shelter.
$50 donation provides Hepatitis C or HIV Tests and Condoms for 10 people.
$75 donation provides 500 needles and safer injecting supplies.
$100 donation provides Parenting Classes and Childcare for 1 family.
$500 donation provides physical exams and wound care treatments for 20 people.
$1,000 donation provides psychiatric evaluations and initial treatment for 20 people.

In Memory of Vickie Casanova

Vickie CasanovaVickie Casanova, HHCLA's Director of Operations, passed away peacefully in her family home in Woodland Hills on August 10, 2011. Vickie was a radiant source of goodness, decency, kindness and a joy to know. She was a rare and fine human being who devoted their life bringing relief to the unfortunate and comfort to friends and family.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Homeless Health Care Los Angeles in her honor.
